Photographer Charles Brooks invitations us to discover the internal workings of our musical devices…

Musical devices are often imagined of as lovely from generations-outdated violins, to new gold lacquered saxophones, they’re normally a do the job of art in their individual proper.

But have you ever puzzled what the inside of your instrument appears like? Possibly you’ve peered into a gap among the strings, or pads, to only have been met with darkness.

Now, as component of New Zealand photographer, Charles Brooks’ collection, ‘Architecture of Music’, we’re presented a scarce insight into the interior functions of our tuneful resources.

Brooks, a gifted orchestral cellist who has executed with the likes of Lang Lang and the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra, uses his expertise of songs to generate these intimate portraits of devices.

Utilizing among dozens to hundreds of personal frames to develop every picture, Brooks generates the illusion of space in his photographs, “tricking the intellect into believing that it is observing an expansive chamber you could stroll through”.
